THIS EASTER, COMILLAS COMES TO LIFE WITH A SPECIAL PROGRAM FOR THE WHOLE FAMILIY

This Easter, Comillas comes alive with a special lineup designed to help you enjoy every corner of this charming village—whether it’s your first time here or you’re coming back for more. With extended opening hours at major monuments, activities for kids, guided tours through the town, and even concerts and local festivities, there’s plenty to experience.

If you’re planning to be around, here’s everything you shouldn’t miss! One of the highlights, as always, is El Capricho de Gaudí, which is offering special family-friendly tours and a wide range of workshops and activities for all ages during these dates. If you’re visiting with kids and want them to have fun while learning, this is the perfect plan. Workshops have very limited capacity (only 12 people per group, and children must be accompanied by an adult), so booking in advance is recommended. Here’s the workshop schedule: April 5 & 6: “Little Architects” – Kids can build their own structures using LUPO blocks. April 12 to 20: “Gaudí’s Apprentices” – A creative workshop where children design their own frames using the trencadís mosaic technique, just like Gaudí did at Park Güell. April 21 to 27: “The Legend of Sant Jordi” – A storytelling and craft session featuring rose painting and handmade books based on this famous Catalan tradition. But Gaudí’s Capricho isn’t the only gem in Comillas. You can also visit the stunning Palacio de Sobrellano and its Chapel-Pantheon, two architectural masterpieces that take you back in time. If you’re into grand buildings and rich history, don’t miss the Old Pontifical University, which also offers guided tours throughout the week.

You can check monument schedules here: http://www.comillas.es/horarios-monumentos-comillas If you’d rather explore the town with someone who can share stories, legends, and hidden details, TOUR COMILLAS https://tickets.elcaprichodegaudi.com/es/751-actividades/4193-entrada-tour-comillas runs two daily guided walking tours, at 11:30 AM and 5:00 PM. It’s a great way to discover the town at a relaxed pace.

And for the first time ever, you’ll also be able to step inside the impressive Chalet of the Dukes of Almodóvar del Río, now open to the public thanks to VISITA CANTABRIA’s expert guides. Don’t miss this exclusive chance to see one of Comillas’ most spectacular buildings up close. Book tours here:  https://visitacantabria.es/visitas/comillas/comillas-mansion/

Of course, it’s not all monuments and walking tours—there’s fun and relaxation, too! On Friday, April 18, we’ll celebrate the beloved Mackerel Festival, a lively seaside event featuring a popular grilled mackerel tasting, all set to the music of Las Piteras de Valles. Sounds delicious, right? There’s music, too! Don’t miss the I Festival de Música Sacra de Comillas, taking place on Thursday, April 17 and Friday, April 18 in the Seminario Mayor Church https://www.unientradas.es

Plus, the Capilla Music Hall will host a special concert—“El Bosque” Tour with Merino + Tania Pereira—guaranteed to add rhythm to your Easter break (tickets here). 20th April the  la Joven Orquesta Sinfónica de Cantabria – JOSCAN Réquiem de Mozart en la Iglesia del Seminario Mayor 13:00h. And finally, remember that our Tourist Office will be open every day from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, ready to help with anything you need—from planning your visit to giving you tips to make the most of your time in Comillas.

So now you know—if you’re looking for a beautiful, history-filled destination with activities for the little ones and great plans for everyone.
